SNAKE THAT ATE ITSELF

The snake that ate itself The snake's bite, and its poison help the snake to do what it does best, kill. Snakes are cold blooded creatures. That means the environment controls their body temperature and hence their existence and behaviour. When they are out in the sun, snakes get heated up, and they cool off by getting out of the sun . Sometimes when snakes remain for too long in the sun their body temperature soars, so high that they become highly disoriented. They also become extremely aggressive and look for something to kill and eat. In this state the snake often mistakes its own tail as prey and ignorantly start eating itself up. Of course the snake does not survive this mistake and eventually dies. ________________ Sometimes we humans also behave like snakes. We get heated up when we get exposed to certain situations and social conditions. Some religious preachers and political leaders are great at agitating people. They preach and glorify hatred, violence, aggression, bigotry, wanton destruction, slavery, racism, intolerance, disrespect for life and nature, etc. The gullible, angry and frustrated followers get heated up, completely disoriented and unbelievably aggressive and inhuman. A frenzy from which they never regain normality. Worse, everyone around them behaves just the same, and this gives the feeling of being normal. Rather than be unified by aspirations, these misguided people are unified by hate, anger and destruction. Everyone and everything becomes their enemy, thus death and destruction is the only path they see and follow. Except in some pockets, the era of barbarism in today's world is now past. Unfortunately the biggest pocket for such destructive world threatening irrational actions is Pakistan. Now while the world progresses, Pakistan regresses. Why is this so? It is said that Pakistan is dominated by the three A, America, Army and Allah. This is only partly true. ▪ ▪ Pakistan's economic existence depends to a large extent on the 200 feudal families that control nearly all farmland and commerce. The political leadership of Pakistan is also dominated by this group. Pakistan be damned they are concerned only with enhancing their family fortunes. ▪ ▪ America along with its allies supported Pakistan for long, inspite of Pakistan's dismal conduct of terrorism, nuclear proliferation, illicit drug production etc. because it was always considered a front line partner state against Soviet aggression. Now with a friendly regime in Afghanistan and warm relations with India and a thaw with Iran, Pakistan's utility to America and the West is greatly diminished. ▪ ▪ The army controls all major and important institutions and gobbles up a large chunk of the Pakistan national budget to retain a vice-like grip over the country and retain power to maintain the lavish lifestyles of Army officers. ▪ ▪ The clerics, who indoctrinate the innocent and ignorant, collect money, arms and power for various jihadi groups and live in unbelievable good comfort as compared to the people they claim to serve, And yet they have no known source of income. As these custodians of the state become even more wealthy and comfortable, the state of Pakistan and its people, manipulated, distracted and agitated slip further into poverty, despair and hopelessness. The state has expenses to meet and bills to pay. So they monetise this hatred and destruction. It markets itself as a global mercenary state that sells itself and its people for monetary compensation. These include ▪ ▪ Wahabi agression of Saudi Arabia and Qatar using Pakistan to destroy all non Muslims and non Sunni Muslims. ▪ ▪ North Korea and Arab states for atom bombs etc. ▪ ▪ America for training, arming, deployment and support for Mujahideen groups. ▪ ▪ International cartels and gangs for illicit drugs. ▪ ▪ China for maintaining and enhancing its geo-political-economic dominance and hegemony in Asia. A mercenary behaves as per the wishes of those who pay for the service. Doing this for a long period, Pakistan's national character is now defined by intolerance, fanatical hatred for everyone and everything, giving rise to violence, terror, corruption and lawlessness. Pakistan today is like the overheated snake completely disoriented and has been devouring itself. They say they are the victims of terror, hatred and lawlessness but cannot explain why. What else can explain the situation that, homes which cannot afford two sacks of wheat or potatoes now possess and maintain expensive weapons like AK 47 rifles. They do not know what they wish to create and build but they certainly know what they so desperately want to destroy. __________________________________ Sadly now Pakistanis are shunned everywhere in the world. Even Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries are slowly and gradually reducing the number of Pakistani workers. They are not welcome in Japan, America nor in Europe. They are despised even in their own neighbourhood of South Asia, with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India Nepal, Bhutan wanting nothing to do with Pakistan. Pakistan has become a dysfunctional state, that is now in self destruct mode. A great tragedy for a country that is home to Mohenjo Daro and Harappa, the oldest known advanced civilisation, and land of my forefathers. __________________________________ Lands unlike nations and civilisations do not simply disappear. The writing on the wall is clear. It is only a matter of time, but if it maintains the same trajectory, Pakistan is headed for an implosion and collapse. Sind will after a likely civil war, become a separate country. Balochistan will be sold by Pakistani leaders to China and be occupied just like they did with a large part of Pakistan occupied Kashmir, to give the Chinese more power and unrestricted access to the Arabian sea. Most of NWFP (North West Frontier) and FATA, the Pashtun speaking areas will break away as Pashtunistan and merge with Afghanistan. Pakistan will ultimately shrink until West Punjab is all that will remain. And of Kashmir? India will regain Pakistan occupied Kashmir and merge it back into the secular democratic Indian union, where like all other people of India, they will experience prosperity and an overdue peace. This will be the latest chapter of a great blunder. The tragedy of tearing asunder and continuous bleeding of a great country to appease the egos of arrogant misguided greedy power hungry political leaders, overzealous religious fanatics, a mischievous former Imperial power and a Mahatma who failed to stand up and speak out when it mattered most.
